Jakub Waszczeniuk - brass section - Sinfonia Varsovia
He graduated with distinction from the trumpet class of Prof. Igor Cecocho at the Academy of Music in Wrocław (Poland). In 2005, as a fourth-year student, he began working in the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, and since then he holds the position of first solo trumpet player. Jakub has given several hundred concerts with Sinfonia Varsovia, performing in the most prestigious concert halls in the world.
He has also performed as a soloist with leading Polish ensembles such as Sinfonia Varsovia, the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, the Łódź Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestra – to name only a few. In July 2006, he performed as a soloist at the inaugural concert of Chopin and his Europe Festival at the Warsaw Philharmonic. Together with Martha Argerich and the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra conducted by Alexander Rabinowich-Barakowsky, he performed Shostakovich's Concerto No. 2 for Piano, Trumpet and String Orchestra, Op. 35.
Jakub regularly collaborates with orchestras such as: Sinfonietta Cracovia, Leopoldinum, Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, Łódź Philharmonic Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra. In addition to classical music, Jakub also enjoys performing pop music. He collaborates with the pop orchestras of Zygmunt Kukla and Tomek Szymusi and the big band of Krzysztof Herdzin as lead trumpet. He has shared the stage with leading Polish jazz and pop stars, such as: Zbigniew Namysłowski, Ania Szarmach, Frank McComb, Ryszard Rynkowski, Adam Sztaba, Grażyna Łobaszewska anc Lora Szafran.
