Yesong Lee - cellos - Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra
Yesong Lee was born in 1995 in Gwacheon, South Korea. She began playing the cello at the age of 5 and received professional music training at the Seoul Arts Center Academy and the Korea National University of Arts Pre-College. After completing these institutions, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Cello from Yonsei University in Seoul. She then continued her studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck, where she completed a Master's degree with distinction under the guidance of Prof. Ulf Tischbirek.
Yesong Lee has been actively involved in various solo performances, including the complete performance of Bach's Cello Suite No. 2 at the Katharinenkirche in Lübeck. Through concerts in several German cities such as Lübeck, Plön, Kiel, Eutin, and Bad Kleinen, she continues to demonstrate her artistry as a soloist.
In addition to her solo career, she has also been actively engaged in chamber music, participating in various festivals. In 2023, she performed the Reger String Sextet at the Lübeck Brahms Festival, concluding the festival's final concert. She was also a member of the orchestra academy at Lübeck Theater and Volks Theater Rostock, where she participated in opera and symphonic performances.
Since April 2024, Yesong Lee has been serving as Co Concertmaster at the Szczecin Philharmonic, while continuing her Konzert Examen studies at the Hochschule für Musik Lübeck under Prof. Ulf Tischbirek.
