Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra
Since 2019, Karolina Hyla-Wybraniec has held the position of Concertmaster of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, the oldest philharmonic institution in Western Poland, where she has performed as a member of the orchestra since 2017. Alongside her orchestral career, she is active as a soloist and chamber musician, performing with the Apotheosis String Quartet and Karłowicz Quartet.

Karolina Hyla-Wybraniec was born on 2 September 1990 in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland. She began her musical education at the State Primary Music School in her hometown, graduating with distinction in 2002. She continued her studies at the Fryderyk Chopin State Primary and Secondary Music School in Opole, also graduating with honours. In 2009, she entered the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she studied violin under Beata Warykiewicz-Siwy and Adam Mokrus, completing her Master’s degree with distinction in 2014.
She is a prizewinner of the Stanisław Hajzer Bach Competition in Zielona Góra and the National Forum of Young Instrumentalists in Rybnik. Alongside her solo activities, she is a co-founder of the Apotheosis String Quartet, an ensemble that has received numerous awards at international chamber music competitions, including distinctions in Ukraine, Poland, and Slovenia.
Karolina Hyla-Wybraniec has further refined her artistry through masterclasses and chamber music courses led by distinguished musicians and ensembles, including Roland Baldini, Maria Orzechowska, Wiesław Kwaśny, Piotr Tarcholik, Tim Frederiksen, Apollon Musagète Quartett, Altenberg Trio, and Royal String Quartet.
From 2014 to 2017, she was a member of the Gorzów Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. Since 2017, she has been a violinist with the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Szczecin, and in March 2019 she was appointed Concertmaster of the orchestra.
An active chamber musician, she performs with the Apotheosis String Quartet and Karłowicz Quartet, and serves as Concertmaster of Camerata Stargard. She also collaborates with Ensemble Nuove Musiche, an Italian ensemble specialising in contemporary music. Together with the Karłowicz Quartet, she advanced to the second stage of the 3rd International Polish Music Competition in Rzeszów.
As a soloist, she has appeared with the Józef Elsner Opole Philharmonic Orchestra, the Henryk Mikołaj Górecki Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Szczecin, and Camerata Stargard.
She has performed at renowned international festivals, including Warsaw Autumn, Chopin and His Europe, Fjord Cadenza (Norway), and the Kraków Film Music Festival. Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with such distinguished artists as Garrick Ohlsson, Soyoung Yoon, Bomsori Kim, Alena Baeva, Alexander Gavrylyuk, Christian Tetzlaff, Stefan Asbury, Aleksandra Kurzak, Andrey Boreyko, Jacek Kaspszyk, Krzysztof Penderecki, Antoni Wit, Małgorzata Walewska, Joseph Calleja, and Artur Ruciński.
Karolina Hyla-Wybraniec has also participated in numerous commercial recordings and film music projects alongside artists and ensembles including Krzysztof Penderecki, Wojciech Kilar, Andrzej Ruciński, Małgorzata Walewska, Jonny Greenwood, the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, AUKSO Chamber Orchestra of the City of Tychy, and the Gorzów Philharmonic Orchestra. The album Christmas Time, recorded with the Puellae Orantes Girls’ Cathedral Choir, the Kraków Brass Quintet, and the Apotheosis String Quartet, received Platinum Record certification.
