Zofia Anna Olesik - violin
A 20-year-old violinist from Silesia, currently studying at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the class of Professor Marcin Baranowski. Laureate of over 30 national and international competitions, including the Henryk Wieniawski and Karol Lipiński International Violin Competition in Lublin, the International Jascha Heifetz Competition for Violinists in Vilnius, the Aram Khachaturian International Competition, the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition, the Michał Spisak International Music Competition, and the Zdzisław Jahnke National Violin Competition.
Zofia Olesik has been awarded scholarships by the Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage (Young Poland Programme), the Prime Minister of Poland, the cities of Poznań and Katowice, and the Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region. She is also a two-time recipient of the prestigious Morningside Music Bridge (USA).

Despite her young age, Zofia has already performed with numerous renowned orchestras, including the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society, Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Pomeranian Philharmonic, Poznań Philharmonic, and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also performed at Buckingham Palace.

She collaborated with the Vienna Philharmonic as part of the “Penderecki Project,” and has worked with the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. She has further refined her artistry under the guidance of distinguished musicians such as Julia Fischer, Midori, Vadim Gluzman, and Donald Weilerstein.

Zofia Olesik has been announced as the first officially confirmed participant of the upcoming 17th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition. We keep our fingers crossed.
