Arek Adamczyk is one of Poland’s leading bassoonists. He is a laureate of all major national bassoon competitions, including the Grand Prix at the International Academic Oboe and Bassoon Competition in Łódź (2002).

He graduated with distinction from the Royal College of Music in London and the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. In 2022, he completed further studies at the Hochschule für Musik Mannheim in the class of Professor Ole Kristian Dahl.
He is currently Professor of Bassoon at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, where he leads the largest bassoon class in Poland. His students are prize winners at national and international competitions and regularly win positions in leading symphony orchestras.
As a soloist, he has performed bassoon concertos with orchestras throughout Europe, including Spectrum, the bassoon concerto written and dedicated to him by the British composer Adrian Williams. He also appears regularly as a guest principal bassoon with leading British orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and London Mozart Players.
Since 2017, he has been the founder and artistic director of Pracownia Fagocisty, an international bassoon festival held annually in Poznań. Alongside his performing career, he maintains an active profile as a teacher and researcher in Poland and abroad.
