ILYO 2025 auditions stats
As we are waiting for the results of the online audition for the 13th edition of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra project, which should be announced May 30, we share some insights and record breaking stats. How many applications did we receive this year? How many countries are represented by our applicants? Which instrument is leading in the number of applications received? We invite you to discover the incredible numbers behind our 2025 online audition.
We received a total of 302 applications and this means that a new record is set. Never before young classical musicians were so numerous to apply for the project. We wish to thank them once again for their participation, hard work and commitment.
Our applicants are nationals of 35 countries on all 6 continents (well, beside Antarctica of course)*. And this is yet another record of this year’s online audition. Never before in ILYO’s history have all continents been represented. This means that ILYO is a truly global youth orchestra without borders, and divisions, open to all nationalities and united by the love of music. Nationals of these countries participated in ILYO 2025 online audition (in alphabetical order):

Among all applicants flutists are the most numerous, the second place belongs to violinists, while the third spot is secured by cellists, followed by violas, clarinets and trumpets.
We wish to thank once more all participants of ILYO 2025 online audition, we keep our fingers crossed for each one of you. The results should be announced by May 30. Stay in with us.
