Yoga classes orchestrated by Iga Drąg
We all know that stress, pressure, and tension accompany classical musicians not only during rehearsals and concerts. This profession requires not only excellent mastery of the instrument but also resilience and the ability to cope with mental pressure. That's why ILYO is introducing special yoga classes for its musicians. These classes will be led by Iga Drąg, a saxophonist and certified yoga instructor specializing in working with professional musicians.
Iga graduated from the Zenon Brzewski Music School in Warsaw and earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Academy of Music in Łódź (saxophone class of Prof. Paweł Gusnar). She also studied in Split (saxophone class of Gordan Tudor) and at Berlin’s Universität der Künste (chamber music class of Gregor Sigl, Artemis Quartet).
Her master’s thesis explored how yoga can support woodwind players. For Iga, yoga is not just a physical practice but a holistic discipline that enhances focus, mental clarity, and body awareness. She is especially passionate about breathwork – both as an essential element of wind instrument performance and as a powerful tool to release tension and manage stress.
She emphasizes that yoga can benefit all musicians, not just wind players. By cultivating greater body awareness, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with the breath, musicians can practice more effectively, perform with greater calm and expressiveness, and better handle the physical and mental challenges of stage life.
In 2023, Iga completed a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training at YogaUnion in Bali. Since then, she has been regularly teaching both group and individual yoga classes, passionately bridging the worlds of music and mindful movement.
