Dikanda with Orchestra

The Philharmonia Light concert series will open this season with Dikanda, accompanied by the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The group’s fiery performance during last year’s True Musicians Tournament was met with an enthusiastic reception. This year, we once again invite you on a musical journey filled with ethnic sounds combined with symphonic harmony.

Dikanda is a renowned Szczecin-based world music band. In their work, Dikanda emphasizes authenticity of style – constantly exploring new directions, with most pieces being original compositions. Their musical inspirations come from traditional folk sounds of the broadly understood Orient – from the Balkans, through Israel, Kurdistan, and Belarus, to India. Dikanda’s concerts are highly energetic encounters, full of charisma and vitality. The essence of their work lies in the connection and exchange between the artists and their audience.

The pieces presented during the concert have been arranged by Mateusz Czarnowski, composer, conductor, and leader of the band Bubliczki.
